Hi! I want to play Diablo again. I would like to know whether I can play It using my Android (smartphone). I see the game is for Windows. So IS It possible to use any app to play It with a Cell phone? Can I do that without exporting computer files? Thank you!

Use DevilutionX (I'm a maintainer), you need the mpq files to run the full game.
There is no legal way to play Diablo 1 on a cell phone that I know of.

DevilutionX is legal and lets you play diablo on android systems - if it wasn't legal, it would've been deleted from playstore

In your country, ripping pc games may be allowed under law, but in the USA it is not.

To the OP, the maintainer of devilution has already told you you could use it to rip the MPQ files to play the game on your android.

I apologize for the person responding to me railroading your conversation, but depending on your country this may or may not be illegal.

In the US we are not allowed to rip pc games onto our cellphones. That is all I was trying to say. I don't know what Brazil's regulations are. Obviously in Poland they apparently are allowed to rip whatever files they want.

Again, I apologize to OP that this thread got derailed by someone who obviously doesn't care for people with extra information. I know we're not supposed to discuss the p word in these forums and that it's a bannable offense, so that's why I didn't recommend ripping the files unless you know for sure it's legal.

Have a nice day.

what idiocy is this? You buy the game and you can put the files on your phone / in your fridge, nobody cares, how's that illegal? Christ ...

Oh so you don't even know if it's illegal in Brazil, but you came with your "hurr durr but in 'murica" point of view, which nobody needed, just great!
Everyone in this thread has contributed something valuable. Except you.

To the OP
I apologize for the person from USA that came here with their point of view which nobody needed and 0 useful information.

From what I understand there is no such limitation in the US. I think you are conflating the term "ripping", with "illegal distribution of ripped content".

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ripping#United_States

The difference between the US and Poland appears to be that in the US you can enter a private agreement to weaver your right to make private copies of a specific work, where in Poland you will always have that right and any such agreement would be void.

As for Brazil:

Section 6 of the Software Law stipulates that the following will not be deemed to be infringement:

- the integration of a program, maintaining its essential characteristics, to an operational or application system which is technically indispensable to the needs of the user, provided it is for the exclusive use of the person who performed the integration.

Anders_Jenbo:
Thanks for explaining. All pc software terms of use other than freeware and public domain works typically have an item about not reverse engineering or using the content as you described.

We aren't exactly the freeest country in terms of copyright.

Thank you for not ripping my head off. As a copyright holder i am familiar with local laws but forget i can't assume all places have the same rules.

Have a great day.

Cym
Thank you ALL! Good luck everyone.
