I keep getting this message

You internet connectin is either very poor or is not processing
UDP packets through port 6112. You will be able to chat but will not be able to play games.

I followed the blizzard configuration instructions for windows 10 but no luck so far.

any ideas?
Ignore this message - if you configured everything correctly you should be able to play anyway.

hi, i would assume that we won't be able to play with retail Diablo 1 players on bnet? or GOG version has its own dedicated server?

I don't think so, sorry. The battle.net gateway set in GOG version is called Global.

Next to the firewall configuration in windows, there is the port forwarding that is needed on the internet router/modem.
You need to forward incoming packets on port 6112 to the pc you are playing Diablo1 on.
I do not know which modem/router you use, but searching for the model of your modem/router + port forwarding usually gets you a workable instruction site for your model

EDIT
This also implies that only ONE person (one PC) in the household can play on battle.net at the same time

Have you created a rule for your firewall as well?

This is known problem with Classic Battle.net. The solution is simple, when you get the error message just go back to the Multiplayer menu and try again. It usually work on a second or third attempt.

- Start Classic Diablo
- Go to Multiplayer
- Select Battle.net
- Get error message
- Go back to Multiplayer
- Select Battle.net again
- It logs in nicely and will let you host games and join others

However, you should check that you have UDP ports 6112 - 6119 open. Classic Battle.net needs the whole range of 6112 - 6119. You can create the rule in your firewall easily enough, but if it's new, just google it. It's easy.

Have a nice Demon slaying :)

Alright, have you forwarded ports 6112-6119 or only 6112?
