Anyone know how to smooth out the cursor? It seems to be more jittery/laggy than I remember it...

You can't, it's due to the game running at only 20fps.
I occasionally run into problems with my optical mouse because one of my dog's hairs has found its way into the light path. One or two hairs is not much of a problem but more and the scattering of the light causes serious tracking issues. I keep a pair of hemostats handy for hair removal. Since replacing my wired mouse with a wireless one the problem has become less frequent. I would suppose it has to do with a difference in how the the opening for the optics is shaped inspite of both mice being from the same manufacturer. It is also possible, if a smoker is often present, for the optical window to become clouded as a result of the smoke. In that event it is likely the only solution is to replace the mouse as there may be no safe solvent for removing the smoke from the optical window that doesn't cloud the window itself.

Hey dude,

I suffered from the laggy mouse when I changed some settings so switched em back and the mouse was buttery smooth again. My settings as follows:

Display: Max Res and Max Refresh
Presentation: Set by app
Aspect Ratio Correction: Enabled
Scaling Method: Integer
Vertical Sync: Enabled
Anisotropic: Disabled
Antialias: Set by app

This should sort it out for you, I think the setting that makes it run like crap though is having vsync OFF, which ties the mouse to the game refresh. Having vsync ON ties it to the monitor refresh.
zuntan, that is one of the strangest posts I've seen on GOG. It definitely isn't a dog hair or smoke! The mouse works perfectly in every other game, including the main Diablo menu. Hilarious dude...

BEN123, thanks for the settings, but no dice.

DevilutionX solves this problem by allowing the game to render at your monitor refresh rate.

I just was setting up the game on my machine and has a problem with cursor lags. This is common in games with bitmap cursors instead of hardware ones. It turned out that lowering the resolution to 1280x720 fixed most of the cursor lag.

note: my GPU is a 9 year old intel hd :-P

We have a pull request pending that implements Hardware Cursor so that issue might be fixed soon :)

Nice! Perhaps you could work with GOG to include your source port with the game, like some other games have fan patches (e.g. Jazz Jackrabbit 2 and Fallout 1&2 have some fan patches included directly on GOG)

That would be interesting, but I'm not sure how to best contact them?

By the way 1.3.0 is here with 60fps animations and hardware cursor and public multiplayer.
