GOG's ddraw wrapper (in DX mode) is the best for vanilla Diablo since it features integer scaling.

downside is you cannot alt-enter to window and fullscreen while playing. if you need that i would use StrangeBytes ddraw wrapper.

cnc-ddraw wrapper is currently the best option. There's a thread about it over at warcraft 2 forums.
