Hi all,

I don't know if this has already been covered in another post, if so please by all means direct me there, but does anyone know how to play Diablo Classic full screen?

No matter what options/configuration I go with it seems to always just load the game into a small square in the middle of my screen. How can I get it to keep the aspect ratio but stretch to the limits of my screen?

The GOG version seems to do this no problem, how do you do it with Classic?

Would much appreciate any help and advice on this.

Have you configured "Display mode" to your monitor's native resolution in the Video Settings option of the launcher? Classic mode is enlarged to fill my 16:9 monitor keeping the original 4:3 ratio with no problems. I also have aspect ratio scaling enabled on my GPU, so that might be something to look into as well.
Same problem here, there are not any affect of setting the correct resolution in the option. It does not matter if i set the native resulution of my monitor. It starts always in the "old look". Do you guys have any other solution for this ?
1) Go to GOG Games/Diablo/dx folder
2) Run dxcfg.exe and setup this:
Display mode: Same as Desktop
Presentation: Windowed - integer scaling

3) Copy ddraw.dll, dxcfg.exe and dxcfg.ini from GOG Games/Diablo/dx folder into the GOG Games/Diablo folder.
4) Run "classic" Diablo.

This makes your "classic" diablo run with the improvements of the "improved" version.
Same here, can't play in 16:9, the option panel has no effect on the game...

This did not work, it for some reason made it so that Diablo needs the disc to play. It just kept asking me to incert the CD to continue.

Thank you!! This completely fixed the issue.
GPU Scaling "On" "Fullscreen"

[dxcfg]
display=1400x1050@144
presentation=fullscreen
vsync=disabled

this streches Diablo to my widescreen 16:9 in better quality

dont forget to copy: ddraw.dll, dxcfg.exe and dxcfg.ini from GOG Games/Diablo/dx folder into the GOG Games/Diablo folder. (thanks to Realpsojed)
