Hi all Diablo fans!

Begginers IRONMAN's runners here, we are right now at DLVL 9 with Warrior and Rogue.

I don't think we gonna make it since we have no more than 14 red potions and 6 blues... anyways we gonna try to do our best!

My question is... is it easier to beat the game with warrior + rogue or warrior + mage ? Since we realise that Heal Other spell is one of the most usefull things we got downthere... on the other hand she supports me a lot with her bow...overall when we have some ranged enemys...maybe she just need to add MANY points to magic instead of Dexterity?

PS: Any IRONMAN runners who would like to join... don't hesitate...we need reinforcements downthere! :D (see attached image)

I would say that warrior + rouge is easier.
Rogue also should take some into Magic stat. like 27 for Fire Wall staff. 30 for ressurect staff. Or even to 33 MAG for Telekinesis staff and Stone Curse scroll.
Also warrior shall take at least 17 MAG for healing. Good to have more for more healing level from items or shrines.
Mage needs mana, so he can help you as rogue with bow, but his mana will end soon if he will do that often.
He can recharge staves, so it is good as 3rd character though. (plus another backpack).
I recommend you play Iron Man under closed-in subtype aka locked-in. Everybody play this subtype for a decade. Almost noone is playing without those additional rules.

I don't think there is an indisputable best ironman duo. Ironman victories don't happen enough to support any of such claims.

RBD AKA Realms Beyond Diablo has a bunch of Victory Reports with detailed write up from its members. It also hosts the Ironman rules and an in-depth Ironman Strategy Guide, The Forge. By myself, KingOfPain. (someone else has already register KoP on this forum, PrinceOfOuch is my other IGN)

Hope this helps :)
Generally speaking rogue + warrior is considered to be the best... the rogue can pump some magic to act as a quasi sorcerer. I doubt anyone would tell you otherwise.
Bar non, the best is the Sorcerer + Sorcerer combination.
Where one can be more focused in Melee abilities and the other is spells, then compliment it all with high levels of Stone Curse and Guardians and whatever else peaks your fancy.

But in the combination of Rogue and Warrior, which is what me and my friend plays, I'd have to say to put all your starting points into Magic as a Rogue and focus on book hunting to find stuff like Lightning, Fireball, Chain Lightning, Firewall and Flamewave - and later on a lot of focus into Stone Curse and Guardians as previously mentioned and at that point switch over to Bows that either increase your overall stats or compliment your magic significantly more.

That's how I play Rogue personally - though I long for the days of Hellfire's superior class the Bard for this - since Rogue maxes out Strength at 55 and Magic at 70, that's the reason why I say go for Magic at the start, as well as that Rogue's starting bows leave a tremendous lot to be desired. Or to put it differently, bows at the start of the game just plain suck. You don't have the stats or damage output to make them fun or particularly good, and although you could certainly kite around the Butcher, it's likely your journey would end short. You can start focus into Dexterity and Vitality once your basic magic need is taken care of.

Likewise for the Warrior, I would probably suggest going into Dexterity at the start to up AC fast as well as chance to hit, but I don't play Warrior very much, but you don't want to have a low AC and you don't want to swing and miss all the time either.

Also unlike what others say here, I would say that Warrior and rogue is not the best at all. It's widely considered that Rogue is the worst for teamplay due to your arrows will hit your friend in the back more often than not. And although it makes me laugh every time when I start flining arrows at enemies just as my friend decides " Now is a good time to walk into a stream of arrows from one side and blood stars from the other ", it's very detrimental to your friend's health. Even more fun when the same happens except you were spamming chain lightning.

Alternatively you could always go Warrior / Warrior, where one uses a shield and the other a two-handed weapons. Key point is to have fun after all. Two Rogues could be good as well.
War/Rog, there is no other options really if you really want to go far enough like to Hell Difficulty. Rog/Rog can be good in theory as well, but it is quite hard because you can't repair things.

BTW, one guy recently finished all 3 diff solo with a rogue. All is on youtube.
