takezodunmer2005: Looks like they fixed it:

1
2
3

This was 100% installed via offline installers as it's a heluva lot quicker just to download=>install than to use galaxy!
avatar
tremere110: Did you have Galaxy installed?
Yes galaxy is installed, but not running... I do hope GoG rectifies the issue as it's obvious that others are having a problem running the DLCs!
avatar
takezodunmer2005: I did shut down galaxy and it still loads on my end, GoG should rectify this issue though!
avatar
racofer: Make sure that GalaxyCommunication.exe is no longer running after you shut Galaxy down.
Heh, well what do you know... This really does suck! Yeah I'll edit my posts!

This is probably how GOG tested and thought it was ready for release as well. They have been really slipping on non Galaxy releases for a while now =[

Maybe this is how they were able to secure a release here as squeenix still has the steam version is still denuvo-infected I would not put it past them as game publishers are truly scummy fucks!
It's quite possible this is just an oversight on GOG's part. SE, on the other hand, are an awful awful publisher.

Why there should be a query to some server (every time!) so you can load a save with the "Covert Agent Pack" enabled is beyond me.

Just put the files in the DLC folder and call it a day.

Edit: Ironically, the saves work if your computer isn't connected to your wifi/internet.

Really? Last time I checked they had removed the Denuvo is used info box on Steam, so many people had assumed if that declaration had gone so had Denuvo.

Denuvo is still there on the Steam release. If you check the EULA, it clearly states that, and you can also check that running the game on Steam (it requires periodical phoning home to Denuvo servers).

In fact, many games on Steam follow this model of omitting Denuvo on the project page, only for it to be found buried in the EULA. Check the newer Assassin's Creed games on Steam (i.e., Odyssey), and it does not mention Denuvo. Then check the EULA and there it is.

This is one of the reasons I have completely stopped purchasing games on Steam. You never know what you will be getting.

So the reason was found out by a cracking group called Plaza. Which for the first time actually cracked a Gog Galaxy game by emulating Ghost a protocol used by the EXE to wrap steam calls into galaxy to activate DLC.

Here is the basics:
This is a very interesting case. Square Enix/eidos gave GOG the unprotected binary but they left all the Steam stuff intact, probably because Square Enix didn't want to waste any of that sweet MTX money on dev work. So GOG had to add a platform bridge called Ghost to the game. It's a wrapper that translates the Steam calls and redirects them to GOG Galaxy so the DLC gets unlocked. This brings us to the unique situation where a GOG game, for the first time ever, actually needs a crack, which is essentially just a normal Steam crack without custom platform bridges. Enjoy!
Thats directly form the Cracking crew that popped the Ghost wrapper bridge developed by GOG. Hope that helps everyone know whats going on and why. Blame the Square Enix/eidos, but also blame GOG for not telling us.

All GOG needs to do is say: The below DLC will only work with Galaxy installed, that should cover their butts. The rest of the game functions without issue at all. I would love to see them actually fix it but i doubt they can. unless they dig into the Plaza crack and copy what they did.

Yeah, don't trust the Steam store pages. You can't even tag a game with Denuvo. They disabled that tag shortly after implementing the user tagging system.

Use pcgamingwiki.com to check up on things like DRM (and more).

This sucks. The entire reason I buy games here is so I can play them completely offline, I don't have to use any 3rd party client or launcher, and I have fully functional backup installers of everything I purchased.

Refund time.
This seems like something that should be fixed. They have the DLC installers as an offline backup. If they didn't intend for the DLC to work from that, they wouldn't have the installer.

Though, we do probably have to make noise about this to get it fixed.
You should contact support. This is not the first time this has happened with a game. Support will contact the publisher so they provide a fully DRM free release just make sure to file a ticket with GOG support and keep this thread alive.
I would like clarification: Does GOG Galaxy only have to be present, or does Mankind Divided have to be installed through GOG Galaxy?
