"not compatible across versions" is quite a strong indicator how much (or more not so) you value the time of your customers and that most likely something is wrong in your game development decisions. Just sayin'.
I'm still at the start of the game, so I'm fine with it.
Besides, I don't know how long it takes to play it, but it most certainly not an RPG, where such an incompatibility would mean much more.

Just saw this, so forgive the late reply.

I'm afraid your remark is misdirected as I'm not affiliated with the devs in any capacity, just a regular GOG user posting changelogs as they become available.

I suggest you contact the devs directly.
