Hi everyone,
I have installed Descent 3 some time ago, but never got to play it until now. For some reason, I can't use the mouse to move the ship, only the keyboard. The mouse works fine on the menu screen, but it does nothing ingame. Also, on the mouse control configuration screen, the mouse works when I'm clicking on a command, but the game doesn't seem to recognize the mouse movement when it asks to move the mouse in any direction. For example, on the control configuration screen, I can click on the "Pitch" command, and then it asks me to move the mouse in the desired direction, but at this point it doesn't seem to recognize the mouse anymore. I'm running Windows 8.1, by the way.

While I can control the ship using the keyboard, I would prefer to use the mouse, so if someone could help me I would be really thankful.

Did you setup the controls in your pilot config?

I did, but I tried resetting to the default controls, and it still doesn't work. I just noticed that the control setup recognizes my mouse buttons, but for some reason it doesn't detects its movements. In other words, I can assign the controls to the mouse buttons, but not to the mouse movement itself. And actually, the "pitch" command on the mouse/joy setup screen is assigned to the mouse's Y axis by default, so I really don't know why it's not working...
Unfortunately, I haven't been able to fix this issue yet. Does anyone know I could fix it?

Try this. It worked for me.

Create a new pilot. Choose Default Mouse as controller. Then go into settings and configure it.
