I am a huge fan of Democracy 3, but at the same time I'm not a power player - I play only occupationally.

I find it better if games are simpler and the learning curve is not too steep, and at the same time I find it genius if the game allows me to discover something new every time I play.

Hence my question: Is Democracy 4 just a more complicated version of D3?
Is it still possible to "just play" without going too much into detail with D4?
Is there a free test version, so that I can try before I buy D4?

Thanks in advance!

Reviews on another forum indicate it would be astute to consider this adage: "Only fools rush in where angels fear to tread." Early access games are a real crapshoot, esp upon initial reease.
