I was wondering this myself. I had purchased Dem 3 and all the expansions direct from Positech but D3 Africa I bought from GoG a half an hour ago.

I install Africa but I can't tell if the 3 expansions are recognised. If I go to MODS in the D3 Africa menu nothing lists.
If I go to my regular D3 and look at mods, it shows all 3 installed and active.

How do I know if Africa has picked up all my DLC's ?????
Hi everyone,

I contacted Cliff from Positech with this question. He said you have to install Africa where you installed your other D3 products in my case as I have D3 and all the DLC. (I also have D2 from way back).

In my case, I generally buy direct from Positech to support them as I love them so much *and* I also buy from here. With Africa I bought from here first instead of Positech so when I used the GoG installed, whilst I was aware it should be installed where the other D3 stuff was I thought I'd try NOT doing that and letting the GoG installer put it where *it* wanted.

I will be buying Africa also from Positech later this week and then installing it where my other D3 things are and report back.

Generally you can tell if the DLCs are picked up by going to the MODS menu on the main screen. So if you have the DLC and D3, override where the GoG installer wants you to put it UNLESS it means putting it in the same place anyway.

Hope this helps :)

styggron, thanks for your reply, I am guessing GOG installer for the 3 DLCs dont allow that installation to base game as D3: Africa for now

No, it should work just fine. With the GoG installer you can tell it where to install things incase you installed things in a different location as I did.

Do you already have D3 and the DLC's installed ? If so, Cliff told me all I need do is uninstall Africa and then reinstall to the same directory where I had D3.
I have both GOG versions and it is C:\GOG Games\Democracy 3 and then when I install Africa is adds a folder called Democracy 3 - Africa and doesn't see them. Should I just take the files in the Africa folder and put them in the default?

This is the same question that I have. I just re-installed Democracy 3 Africa through GOG Galaxy to the game folder for Democracy 3 with all of the DLC. I may try to take all of the files and put them in manually and see if it works.

Right, so it took me a lot of fumbling about but I somehow managed to get it to work.

Basically, you have to install DM3:A directly into your "/GOG Games/democracy 3" folder. If you do "/GOG Games/democracy 3/Democracy 3 - Africa" it will not work. I did it through the offline installers of course, as I don't have GOG Galaxy. I originally tried to copy the data files into the Democracy 3 - Africa folder, but this just caused the game to crash on the second turn. I advise not doing this unless you're magic.

Although - and I don't know if this is my own personal problem - the only way I could bypass the second turn crash was to load up an autosave, quit to the main menu, and then start up a new game. DM3 itself works fine though, even with DM3:A in the folder (DM3:A has its own data folder).
