The DF series is filled with moments and features that (hopefully) will just make you laugh or smile at how silly/moronic they are even if you love the series.

What are your favorite?

For me, it has to be how your squad mates in DF5 often miss their targets when you order them to do a room takedown. They'll just moosey along like it's a marathon for tolerance into the room and then crouch one step away from the guy with an AK only to fire around him.

Close second is the DF2 intro movie. Talk about false advertising. Dense forests, enemies surrendering. Yeah, that's what the game is all about.
I believe the Delta Force 2 demo was the first FPS I ever played. I soon bought DF1 and DF2 boxed copies from Target, but the quick mission "Playbook" that was included in the DF2 demo holds a ton of nostalgia for me. I played it over and over on my Dad's AMD K6-2 450Mhz Windows 98 computer. I was born in 1990 and my dad owned plenty of computers and games before this, but this is the game I remember.

The AI is really inconsistent. The moments I remember most from the first 2 games are when I run through a map like Rambo killing everyone in sight with relative ease but miss someone and the mission won't end until that last guy is dead. I hunt around and finally find him stuck on a tree or laying in wait on the over side of a hill and he fires and kills me with pin point accuracy. Such frustration lol.

Now that delta force is here, If GOG can get Rainbow Six Rogue Spear Platinum and upgrade the original Rainbow Six to the Gold Edition, most of my childhood nostalgic games will be on GOG.

I played that! It was on WinXP in 2006-ish for me, included with Tachyon:The Fringe. Took me so long to beat because there isn't any saving and I had to snipe everyone from the hill opposite the enemy base one at a time.
My first ever Delta Force game was DF2 in 2000 playing with 3 friends on a 56k modem lol running about with saws tat tat tat all night long hooked after that, loved the oilrig map on DFLW. Must say but DF2,DHD and Joint Ops was my favs.

I first bought Delta Force from Staples in 1999 I think. 99% of FPS at the time were sci-fi and the player was all alone with 10 guns and running through hallways and rooms. The huge open maps, nature, AI teammates and based-on-reality weapons/locations of Delta Force was new and fresh to me. But overall even now I prefer imaginative sci-fi/fantasy over reality-based games.

You had an AMD K6-2?! That's some bourgeoisie shit right there. Mine was an AMD K6 350Mhz, upgraded from a Pentium.

Had that baby until 2002 when Medal of Honor and Call of Duty convinced me to beg my parents for an upgrade to a cool Celeron 1Ghz.
I think my favorite moronic moment is the bit in Team Sabre where you have to "stealthily" assault an oil rig with a .50 cal strapped to the front of a boat.

Either that or just the sheer number of bullets it takes to kill a crocodile in some of the earlier missions.
How about in the "Safe Passage" (Indonesia campaign) in DF1 where you have to escort the Indonesian president's convoy.

The mission woudln't end for some reason so I started looking around for a survivor and eventually found him right next to me but fallen halfway through the map and not shooting at all. Mission still woudln't end, so I ran all the way to the last waypoint, still nothing. Almost gave up but headed back to my starting waypoint just to check and sure enough that spawned another wave of enemies that didn't get triggered on my first pass. Mission Complete.

I don't know why but I actually loved that experience. I guess bugs like that take me back to the good old days when it felt like you were not only beating the game but the limitation of game technology as well :D

While I originally bought most of the DF games when they were released, I can't say I remember much about playing them, at least not to the point of remembering something special or funny. I remember how cool it was in one of them when were fighting in Egypt or something and you got to enter a pyramid like structure. (I hope I remember this correctly). It was very cool although the graphics were even then not the best you could get.

My first encounter with Novalogic's games was with Wolf Pack on the Atari ST (I have the box right behind me). A very unique submarine simulator at the time (and still?).
As for their voxel engine based games, while I am certain I played Commanche first I don't remember anything about that experience. My first memories with their engine come from a later game, Armored Fist. I remember it was a mix up of fun and frustration, beautiful graphics and graphics you can barely make out what you are looking at. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.

OK, there is one kinda funny Delta Force moment from very recently. I did a silent (without commentary) video for my youtube/twitch channels, after not having played the game for many years. I was kicking ass till I got one shot killed by
invisible at the time to me enemy soldiers, one of whom was (I am certain) making love to a piece of wall.
