So I've just downloaded and installed the game and it appears to run perfectly fine apart from all the text (both in the menu and in game) appearing to be massively corrupted. It's impossible to read anything as it looks like chunks of letters are missing or sometimes just outright replaced with weird symbols. The closest way to describe it is like trying to read a document that you lack the proper font to read.

Has anyone else encountered this problem or at least know how to fix it?
