Hello dear developers!

After reading about your most generous decision to offer your game completely free to everybody with limited budget, I pondered about downloading it - but finally I came to the decision to buy it on GOG instead. I like horror games, especially if they do their stuff without cheap jumpscares and if they are more on the psychological and surreal side, so I would have probably bought it sooner or later anyway, maybe in a Sale - but it was exactly your exceptional kindness to us customers that made me buy it right away, full price. It's my small contribution to support you great guys.

Have a nice day!
Well said!

I didn't know about the game being available for free on torrent sites, however, I think it was a good move (contrary to what some people think). If someone wants to pirate a game, they will do it anyways; making it available for free, will convince some people to buy it instead.

Best regards.
Because of this brave / maverick decision (offering this game on Pirate Bay for "poor players") I decided to buy it here. That's a commendable example. Many thanks & kudos...
For myself, I think it was their little photo story about the development process and the team behind the game ( dog included ). They seem like nice folks and their game looked interesting, so I decided to buy a copy and support them. Thanks for releasing it DRM-free!

Hey guys, Maciej from Acid Wizard Studio here (I'm responsible for promotion and the English localization, joined the guys some time before the launch).

Thank you so much for your support, we really appreciate it! We've received an overwhelming number of messages from people all over the world thanking us (and often buying a copy to show their support). To be honest, we got a bit teary-eyed (more than once) when reading them.

Congrats to your team, for seeing this project through to the end. I hope it turns out to be a commercial success, and you guys will be able to make more good games in the future. ( After a well deserved break. )

As for Darkwood, I've been playing for a few hours so far, haven't encountered any noteworthy bugs, and the game has a kind of strange, singular appeal to it. It takes a while to warm up to the controls and gameplay mechanics, but it's refreshingly different from other Horror games I've played.

I am another person who bought the game as soon as I could after hearing about your decision to host it on TPB - You guys seem really nice, and I wanted to reward your courage to attempt thinking outside of the box. Hopefully your story can be one that resonates through the industry and shows other companies that when we're treated with respect, us gamers will go to bat for you guys. <3
I bought the game day one after watching it through most of it's EA. The comments on their progress from users is what drove me to do so, they truly seemed like a class act Dev. This news makes me proud to have made that decision.

While I have not spent as much time as I would have liked playing the game, I will say that what I have experienced is a solid old school horror\thriller. The sound and ambience alone is worth it.

Cheers to Darkwood! Here's to many more...

Does anyone know if this official free version is still available to download or it was a limited time offer?
Also, I do not use any torrents - i suppose there wasn't any other way to download it?
