It's too damn difficult. Any working cheats that aren't shady "trainers"?

No cheat codes that I'm aware of. Are you already playing on normal?

Here's the closest thing to a cheat I'm aware of. Please use this only if you're THAT desperate!

Still here?

Have you made it to Wolfman's camp in the Silent Forest? You'll notice that there are two crates next to the Wolfman, both of them locked. There's no "proper" way to open these crates - at least none that I'm aware of.

However, you can find the access code by rummaging through the save file. You'll find them here:

Windows: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Acid Wizard Studio\DARKWOOD
macOS (OS X): ~/Library/Application Support/Acid Wizard Studio/DARKWOOD
Linux: $HOME/.config/unity3d/Acid Wizard Studio/DARKWOOD

Open folder for the profile you use in your current playthrough. Then open the file sav.dat with a text editor. Search for the line "crate1_med_wolfman_camp_01" and "crate2_med_wolfman_camp_01", you'll find the access code right next to it. You can now use these codes to unlock the crates in Wolfman's camp. You'll find an Uzi in one of the crates, which is (as far as I'm aware) not available anywhere else in the game and is the closest thing you'll come to playing Darkwood in godmode. The thing obliterates enemies while eating up the fairly easily obtainable pistol ammunition.
Normal difficulty!

I understand your pain, believe me! What I can suggest - there's some programs (like Cheat Engine), that can change ingame parameters (money, life, number of bullets you own, etc). If you would use it for singleplayer games that's OK, and this game must be without any protection from cheats! I tried it for Tower 57, but it don't work at this game - because there is anticheat engine inside. How to use this program (Cheat Engine) - you can find alot of guides at Internet and Youtube. I hope this will help you! :)
P.S. To my previous post, Darkwood really strong and hard game, but at the same time so Breathtaking ;). But for me it's really hard to live during nights, so I decided to "gain" some additional reputation by Software - Cheat Engine. I don't turn on "God mode", but + some reputation really help to prepare to nights and at the same time this additional Reputation hasn't any influence on story! So if you want to play this game, but you tired of regular deaths you can try to "gain some reputation" through additional soft ;)
had succes with CheatEngine 7.4.

changed reputation(money) on screen with trader
value is saved as 4 bytes, and equals amount we see on the screen.

Good advice. I used it to make my playthrough easier. Sometimes it becomes difficult with in-game money, then I add an extra couple of hundred currency. The main thing is to understand the essence of the process of extracting the necessary data, and then it's a matter of dexterity to change it to the needed level. One thing I decided to make a rule - when I am playing with the raised currency I do not use GOG galaxy so it would not count achievements I can earn during play. In my own opinion that will be a fair play.
