I want to transfer my adventures in Darkstone from one computer to another, but I can't find the saves folder. I've also tried exporting my characters, but can't find the file :(

Can anybody shed some light here? Thanks!

EDIT: you can't transfer characters from a PC to another PC that has a different computer name. However, there is a utility called "Chartrans" that can solve this problem:

You'll have to start a new game, as there is no utility that allows Darkstone saves from a PC to be used on another one, but using chartrans you can at least use your old character, keeping all of your money, exp, items and spells.

Found it! On Windows 7, the folder is:

c:\users\[username]\AppData\Local\Virtual Store\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com

Moving saves and characters to a different PC is very easy once you know how. Just make sure you have a backup of everything first.

"Chartrans" is easy to find. Just google "chartrans.zip planetquake darkstone"
But this is the same utility as "DarkStone Fix 1.0".
̶I̶t̶ ̶d̶o̶e̶s̶n̶'̶t̶ ̶w̶o̶r̶k̶ ̶f̶o̶r̶ ̶m̶e̶ ̶a̶n̶y̶w̶a̶y̶,̶ ̶s̶a̶m̶e̶ ̶a̶s̶ ̶DSLooker and dsbackup.. Not compatible with Win7/10 or Darkstone v1.05B US. Works fine on WinXP.
I created a script, "FixSaver" that does the same thing (but not require access to registry and fixes all game saves, not only characters file).

Note:
-not works from USB drives.
-if your characters.lpl is corrupted (overwritten by a new game already) and you have no backups, it's not a problem. You can export your characters to roster anytime (from the regular save, while in game). Load a game save, then press ESC and Export button. Characters will be added to the characters list and you can start a new game with them I wonder, why it created like that. Actually, it is possible to use old saves too, not only the characters.lpl save.

PS. I figured out how to get DarkStone Fix to work on Win7+, by the way.
It require a registry key below and the compatibility with Win98.

For 32bit you need to remove \Wow6432Node.

The GOG installer do not add This to the registry like the vanilla installer do. That's why DarkStone Fix don't see the game as installed and crashes
