I know there is a Steam OS version of this game and thought that was promising... but no Linux support as yet for Darkest Dungeon on GOG. Anyone heard any rumours on native compatibility in the future on GOG? As I'd rather support them than Steam.

Reportedly it runs flawlessly on wine and it is true perhaps for others. For me game crashes and saves get corrupted on the first hag, Really frustrating.

Runs flawlessly for me on 1.8-rc2 in Windows XP mode, Mint 17.3. I've also patched the game with our patches and had nary a crash and I am on week 65 now.

Installing 1.8 resolved crashing on hag. Although it now crashes when I exit, which is a small and even a little funny price.
Before that I run wine-staging and 1.9, stick with the stable, lads.

I never understand a game crashing on exit, though :)
Kubuntu 14.04 here, resolved crashing by installing wine 1.8.

Pulseaudio is giving it problems though (Horrible crackling so basically no sound).

edit: It IS funny though that some games work fine and some dont (papers please for example also doesn't while guild of dungeoneering does work fine)

Use the "pulseaudio -k" command in terminal before starting the game :)

Also, Papers, Please has a native Linux version so I am not sure why you'd need to run that game via Wine :)

Yes, one of the best moments there was that I got linux version so sound finally worked :) Was just testing it on wine 1.8 whether there is any improvement....

pulseaudio -k didn't work... thanks for trying tho. Guess I will just wait for linux release, should be in a few months I hope.
Will the linux version of the game aviable for free for those who already purchase it on GOG?
