I don't know if you config is good enough i will check it. But to begin do you have Galaxy and did you try to repair/check the game in Galaxy. This might be a solution

And try to update all your drivers espacially for the GPU.

Your graphics may not support the minimum open gl requirements. If it does, try updating it. If not, you're out of luck.

Running localization.exe (found in the same folder as darkest.exe) has fixed the problem for me. Probably some configuration setup process that should be launched automatically at first run but somehow doesn't, and causes the game to crash. I hope that will fix it for you as well !
