Hello, I just bought the game today and whenever I try to start a campaign, I am able to view the cutscene but afterwards I get an error message (picture provided) and the game exits. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game as well as resetting my laptop. I'm not sure what to do now as the only solutions I have found online said to just delete and reinstall the game, or had to do with steam stuff. My computer should definetly be able to run the game, so I'm not sure where the problem is. I am using GOG galaxy to run the game, however, trying to run the game through the games launcher without going through galaxy nets the same result. If any more info is needed, please let me know. Thank you!

Maybe you have any of DD files in some system-protected directory and the game has no permission to access them? Or maybe there is not enough disk space? Or maybe your downloaded installation file has wrong data at some point?

I definetly have enough space on my hard drive, and when I verified/repaired my files with gog galaxy, it did nothing to fix the problem. As for the system-protected directory theory, I seem to have access to all the locations of the files and they are all in locations of other functioning gog games. So I doubt that is the case. Any other ideas? If not, I guess I'll probably have to contact support... :/ (Thanks for trying to help though! :D)

Please take note that default installation directory is not the only one where game files are stored and there also other directories (like these with game save data).

Have you installed game as administrator? Have you tried to run the game with administrator privileges?

I have tried to run the game with administrator privileges and it still does not work... :/

Well, I'm afraid that I won't be able to help you more because sometimes these problems could be caused by "small details" I would not be able to identify without access to your PC. :(

I do not have such problem (I'm using Win 7) nor I haven't heard about any similar one.

All good, thanks for trying tho! I'll fiddle around with a few things here, try reinstalling it and if nothing else works I'll just contact gog support to see if they can do anything. Thanks again!
Bump. I'm having this problem.

Catfish.Jon: Bump. I'm having this problem.
We still do not have the latest game patch on GOG.
I've actually sorted this. It turned out to be Bitdefender trying to block it. It's been doing it to loads of my games. Literally thought Windows 10 was just buggy as hell, but it's overzealous security stuff. Try whitelisting the game in your antivirus software....
