My Avira virus scanner reported the same file as a trojan (and moved it to Quarantine) that came with the download of "Dark Reign" which then stops installing claiming that disk space would be too low...

I just had the same error from Windows built in virus scanner.
I do have the same problem G-Data is directly deleting the file Anet2.dll

Me too

Windows security detects anet2.dll.download as:
Trojan:Win32/Wacatac.B!ml
I got the same thing for the Anet2.dll file via windows security but for me it's being picked up as PUA:Win32/Pearfoos.B!ml and the only thing i can think of is there's something embedded in the Anet2.dll file that shouldn't be there.
I also got the Pearfoos.B!ml alert. It's a piece of spyware that's used to backdoor programs onto others' computers. It has zero function or purpose as part of a game installation, except as spyware.

I reported it as a bug. If enough folks do, maybe we can get the issue addressed.

Weren't there recent fixes to the game? Were these community-derived and perhaps not scanned properly before implementing them in the download?

For the time being, I stopped installation and removed the game after quarantining and removing the trojan. Frustrating not to be able to play it, but I'd rather that than putting my PC at risk.
