My character is level 35, 20 in intellect (character build around hacking) and 12 in both Body and Reflexes (majority of is around AR damage and crits). Once I enter the building I am getting almost one shot in the battle between the elevators (looting the access) by the 3 heavies (not the bots, but the guys with the machine guns) which I usually survive but next wave gets me. All of the enemies (starting with the metal detector guards) are showing skulls on top of them which implies that character is too early to go into the mission. I do wonder what level do people complete this mission on and what is the build or what is the strategy on surviving the fight around the elevators?

PS: I've got through other scenarios with Panam and Rogue without any issues (almost felt it was too easy with final boss dying both times almost instantly) so wonder what is up with this mission. I've checked the video on youtube and did not see that enemies for that player have skulls on top.
Ok. I guess I've found an answer myself: level 45, since I did not want to go with blades stuff as seems everyone is going I've got all possible upgrades to the pistol and assault damage and reload speed in reflexes and health upgrade in athletics. Health booster, +30% crit damage in every clothes slot, legendary smart weapon hand upgrade, legendary crit upgrade in the ocular system and smart weapons. With all these upgrades majority or the enemies were dying in a few hits and since I've been using smart weapons I was able to use extensively use cover and do not care too much about aiming. Almost did not use any hacking skills (except finals guy that died after few reloads and overheats/short circuits. Shotgun guys were still deadly though so on my first run with this build was killed b/c allowed one of these guys on the 2nd level to get close to me. However on the second run defeated all of them without any issues. It was interesting to notice that enemies I had really hard time killing on level 35 which involved lot of weapon reloads, dancing and dodging were dying almost instantly with my build on the level 45 (those 2 bots between the elevators one died right when the 2nd was landing, when on my initial build I had to run around them and the whole level for quite a bit till at least one was killed)...

I think I went through this at around level 30ish the first time, I did not have any problems, the boss was the hardest part for me, I used ping, sneak and a sniper rifle to headshot most enemies there.

Well, I did not had a need for sniper rifle for the whole game: my usual approach for the whole game was to ping and cast spells through the walls (overheat, short circuit, synapse burn and contagion). And when I had to engage I had shotgun, some blunt weapon and either AR or handgun, however had almost no investments into the skills in those areas since I never needed to use those. My trustworthy shotgun was working fine with the guys at the metal detector but that area between elevators did not really work for me, plus since I had almost nothing invested in health I was getting one shot by shotgun guys. Basically my character was geared towards the stealth and hack action which was quite squishy and low damage in anything except spells. Which worked fine even when you storm the building with other teams (as I said earlier, even on that build boss was dying almost instantly since I immediately was blasting him with all available hard hitting spells and shotgun in the face, however with my current build I shot him really fast.

Yeah those are nice, I have cleared many buildings and areas using those hacks.

Sniper build can be fun also, since they basically shoot through walls, ping an area, plant yourself far away and just start blasting at the red shadows.

When I hit 50 I was able to build a Smart SMG legendary quality, all my clothes gear is legendary with 3-4 mod slots (Max tech/crafting), I dumped a ton of critical hit chance in there and critical hit damage along with with armor. That thing basically melts anything I hit, last run boss goes down almost instantly. I admit it is a fun to work with.

Well, I'll give it a shot in next run probably when DLC is going to be released: I already gone through the game 2 times: one very quick basically rushed through the story and finished at level 25 with everything around shotguns and ARs where only at very end (literally when with Aldecaldos we were storming Biotechnica to steal the drill to go to Arasaka I simply ran out of bullets and used them as last resort) I realized that I missed out so much by almost completely ignoring and not investing into quickhacks so I created another character that completed almost everything on the map and also opened up this ending, so looks like I missed out on another playstyle.
