Dear CDProject, defeating Oda on Easy difficulty is very hard with release 2.x?!

There is a reason why I play on Easy difficulty, I just care for the story primarily. With the release 2.01, ODA fight is extremely difficult...sorry.

What is your build? If you're running a cyberdeck, use cripple movement, synapse burnout, and other damage dealing hacks. Smart weapons can help deal critical damage. I played on normal and didn't have a very tough time. May need to adjust your approach

First of all, thank you for your reply. I'm not sure what type of character I am. I put points all over the place. You see, I'm now in my 50s. I don't have the time or the patience to spend weeks optimizing my character. I have just finished the Phantom Liberty expansion and I want to finish the whole game after that. As I mentioned earlier, I play all CDProject Red RPs on easy difficulty because I love to stories, especially Witcher 3. I have defeated Oda in past, no problem with the previous versions of the game. I'm kind of frustrated that the devs had to mess up the easy difficulty level and make it more difficult. Yes, you are right, I need to adjust my approach. I get Oda down to about 40x percent help and the he activates camouflage and fully regenerates...

This is where you need to find him, ASAP!

Disclaimer: My knowledge of this encounter is outdated (patch 1.52, Very Hard difficulty), but unless his abilities has been radically changed in 1.6 / 2.0, this is what you need to do:

If you can manage to track him while he's camouflaged, and attack him while he's standing still, you will interrupt his regeneration. And I've found he likes to hide in the container with the flare, so fighting him away from this location, you can pretty much predict where he'll go to regenerate.

You only have seconds, so here you literally need to shoot at shadows to stop him. I find an assault rifle to be the best here, as you only need to land a couple shots to cancel his renegeration.

Once interrupted, he will charge you, so get ready to jump back and out of his way.

EDIT:
I am currently at this mission in my current (2.0) playthrough, but I've been too busy in Dogtown (and done the fight with Oda many times already), I've deliberately postponed it this time. I can go ahead and do it if you'd like some updated information.

I have been..."editing" my weapons (800 round magazine Defender, 1300 Damage Ashura, 400 damage Lizzie etc.), but for the sake of realism, I'm willing to take him on with the regular weapons.

My current character is focused on hacking and handguns - or at least I was, before the 2.0 release.

One thing that I found helps with detecting him while cloaked is hitting him with the "Overheat" hack. Even if it doesn't do a ton of damage, the hit markers/damage indicators (little white numbers) will still show, meaning you can just follow those then shoot their source.
When fighting Oda I found it better when playing in a darkened roon, it's easier to see him when in stealth mode this way. There's only a a handful of preset locations ( 5 I think ) that he will run to when he regenerates, so once you learn where these are it's not too difficult to track him down.

Thank you all for your feedback. Please note that prior to release 2.0, I didn't have problem defeating Oda. CDPR really made this fight really difficult in release 2.0x. I can't even imagine how Adam Smasher will be difficult to fight. I just need to adjust...

My experience with Oda was...not fun. I was high'ish level I guess (40+?), and I suspect unintended (or intended?) aspects of the 2.0 level scaling come into play with Oda, so the longer you wait the harder (more annoying) Oda gets. I handled him a few times pre 2.0, the fights were interesting. 2.0 the only way I found to defeat him at the point I met him was to chase him down and unload the highest per-shot damage shotgun I had into him point blank range. Anything else, he was regenerating at a much faster rate than I could cause damage. IMO it went from a fight manageable with a variety of strategies, to a fight that could only be beaten with 1.

Good luck.
I'm sure most people already do this, but it's really helpful if you tag Oda at the start of the fight, it's useful for avoiding his attacks as you can track his movements, it doesn't help when he's stealthed but then he doesn't attack while in stealth.

You can pretty much cheese this fight by using the pillar as cover from his ranged attacks, just pop out and land a few headshots in between his attacks. When he moves in for a close ranged attack just run around the pillar and let him chase you, eventually he will stop and you can land a close range attack or two of your own. The biggest challenge is getting to him quickly before he can regenerate, but if you keep an eye on his movements you can usually predict where he's going to hide. He gets a little more manic towards the end of the fight but the same tactics still work, just try and keep your distance from him and use the pillar for cover.

It's not an easy fight, but a lot easier than Oda.
