InfiniteClouds: Diablo 3, a few weeks after launch had an update introducing "RMA" Real-money auction house. It was clear that they were going to try and make the game less about playing the game and having fun gearing up and more about having good items be extremely rare jackpot drops or botfests with Activision (and I say Activision because Blizzard is dead) cha-chinging each transaction.
This update required me to agree to a new EULA basically accepting the premise of the RMA, even to play the game's singleplayer. I declined the EULA and therefore couldn't play... but I had owned the game for 29 days and Blizzard had a 30 day return policy. I contacted them stating I didn't agree to the new EULA, was in my 29 day window and wanted a refund. I got a full refund of my digital copy of Diablo 3 from Blizzard after probably 50-60 hours and 29 days and I'm PROUD of it. I didn't pay for a subscription to Diablo 3, I bought it. They took the game in a different direction and barred my access, and I got my money back.
I've paid a good amount rebuying games from my Steam library (which I no longer buy from) on GOG -- Dishonored 1 & 2, Prey, and others - just to support the studios and show them that DRM free = $ in their wallet. I will NOT twiddle my thumbs and say "Oh well" when companies employ abusive tactics. If you think that's reprehensible you're irredeemable and I'd love to sell you some stuff you don't need!
Same boat with Steam, People think that they're getting a better deal on steam the day is coming soon where valve are going to bite the hands of all those users.
