The game worked perfect with the build_4902785change_6408866_1_(64bit)_(67690) off-line installers. Not a single problem.

However - after applying the (also off-line) 4902785Change_6408866_with_EP1_RL_(67718) update, the game crashes even before I get the menu/setup screen.

This is with the latest NVIDIA 537.42 drivers.
My system is perfectly capable of running this game (Ryzen 5 5600X, 32Gb 3600MHz RAM, RTX 4070, SSD M.2 2Tb), and it did run the game without any problem before the update.

I tried the "fresh" off-line Cyberpunk 2.0_PhL install files, and I get the same result. The game crashes even before the setup screen. The game is completely unplayable. So it's good I stored a copy of the previous version before the updates. Thank heaven I have those off-line installers.

As said the build_4902785change_6408866_1_(64bit)_(67690) runs without any problem, so it's absolutely not something in my system, but solely something to do with that latest update.

I bought this game not long ago, and was finally ready to give it a spin before buying the Phantom Liberty update. For now it seems that this update (and probably that expansion too) makes the game unplayable for me. Of course I will hold off buying anything more until this problem is solved. No Phantom Liberty for me I guess...

[EDIT]

Alright - The answer is given in another thread. This is what you must do to get these off-line installers working:

1. Go to: <...>\Cyberpunk 2077\r6\publishing\x64
2. Create a copy of the “GOG” subfolder next to the original one.
3. Rename the copy of the “GOG” folder to “null”
4. Go to: <...>\Cyberpunk 2077\bin\x64

and delete the: GameServicesGOG.dll"

This seems to work. It's still strange that users have to spring through hoops to get their game working. Should that not be something GOG had to correct in the installers? I mean - It's their own "home turf" game, so you should not expect these weird problems...

Now we're going into the weekend and they didn't bother with a fix for the offline installers since tuesday.
And all thats broken is some dependency on gog thats fixed by renaming some folders.

Shows you how much they care.
