Hi all,

I can't believe after 3 years is still impossibile to play this game.
I have top tier PC hardware, and I am not even close to undestand what the issue is.
Start to play and 30sec/1 min later the game crash.
I can't even download the redmod app from GOG bc it says there are servers problem. (just trying to deactivate the mod buttom, which is permantly on, and i don't have mods)
I deleted the game 3 times, I tried to fix it from configuaration, i tried almost every type of troubleshooting on youtube and on the forum.
This game is unplayable.

Is there a way to know which version is working and can provide a guide to install it? I don't even care about the Mods, I just want to play somehow.

cheers

Sorry to hear that, ironcially for me the best run of Cyberpunk i had with the release version up to version 1.3 i guess when i finished the game.
I had a rather old computer, my System drive was an SATA SSD Samsung EVO 850 with 256GB and the game was stored on my 2x Samsung Spinpoint F3R 1TB HDDs, the CPU a FX8350, 16GB DDR3 RAM and the GPU a RX480 from Sapphire with 8GB VRAM.
And the game run like a charm, albeit around 40 to 50 FPS but smooth as butter, no crashed and only 1 broken quest from start to finish.

When Phantom Liberty came out i played the game again, this time i had alredy the Ryzen 5600, 32GB Ram, a XFX RX 6700XT with 12GB VRAM, all SSD Drives (still SATA bcs my System would stutter with the NVME Drivesi tried).
And in the beginning area of the game i had crash upon crash upon crash...it was not fun.

When i made it to Phantom Liberty and out the first area the crashes stopped and the game again ran like a charm.

I have played it recently again and by now i have a Ryzen 5700X3D, still my old 32GB RAM and the RX7800XT Sapphire Pulse with 16GB VRAM.
Maybe it was updates, maybe it was the change in Hardware, i had almost non of the troubles in the frist area that i hade with the config before and after that there ws no trouble at all.

So, what is the morale of the story...i guess it depends, i suspect the high hotspot temps of my XFX RX6700XT having increased the chance for a crash, but that can not be the sole reason as Phantom Liberty ran like a charm on the same PC config.

What you can do...have you updated your Bios, loaded the defaults and step by step changed settings, disabled all Overclocking, shut down third party software (there is RGB Software that will crash your PC bcs its old a fuck yet unstable but still used i.e.), depending on your hardware 4 sticks of RAM may be unstalbe and 2 Sticks of RAM may work fine, have you cleaned up your registry with registry cleaner etc.

There is so much to try out i can not name it all and in the end it could be your Power Source that delivers not enough power or the your power grid is not the best and lets your power source fail to deliver.

I had that in my old apartment that every time the washing machine was in use my PC would crash...

Really, the reasons for crashes can be literally anything even things you have not yet thought off.
Even firmware for SSDs that corrupt your gamefiles - i had that too - and as Cyberpunk is a big game the chance for game file corruption increases.

Well, i wish you luck for solving your problem, maybe i could give you something new to try out...

Version 2.31 is working okay for me with latest updates to all the main mods like CET CODEWAREetc. It would not run with mods without doing this. Put off the latest update showing on GOG since last week I think, until I found out what it was. Glad I did as not found many mod updates after the release. Have you tried taking out the Folder mods visble when you open the main folder of Cyberpunk (not inside another folder and the two RedLauncher files I think they are for Remod but not 100% on that. Put what ever you take out in a backup folder so can put back if needed. Hope helps a bit.

The solution is easy.
Download the Vortex Mods file from the manual download tab (not Vortex Down). Now, just drag the zip file to the bottom frame (drag here) of your Vortex mod list.
For more details, in settings, don't select "convert mods" and check the GOG launcher mods box. Don't use experimental mods. Enjoy!
