So I've installed the newest version of the game, and while the game opens up, displaying the grainy filter and popping sounds, the actual game itself won't start. No intro, no gameplay, no dev titles, just a black screen with a filter over it. I've reinstalled it once, but I'm at a bit of a loss here.

Anyone else having this problem? I'm using Windows 10, if that helps...

Same issue here but unfortunately it doesn't look like anyone has chimed in with a solution. Latest hotfix applied during install.
same here
same here, window 10
If I look to output_log.txt in Cuphead_Data, I see something about failing to load GalaxyCSharpGlue.dll.
The file is present, though.
Same problem here
I managed to get it working, I think by installing mono ( just google for mono project, I can't post links ). Tried some other things as well (installing unity, changing firewall rules), but only after the mono installation it worked. This feels quite similar to the days I had to develop something using .NET and you had to provide the right VC++ redistributable...
That worked for me, thanks a lot!

YOOOO THANK YOU THIS WORKD I LOVE YOU
Notice: You need to install "Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013" no need to install full Mono.

GalaxyCSharpGlue.dll is missing two libraries provided by said redistirbutable packages.

Thanks, that worked. But x86 package needed, with x64 one game doesn't start (as well as without any)
Thanks, I had the same issue running on Win7. Installed *both* VC2013 redist packages (x86 *and* x64) and now the game runs fine.
