Hello,

I've got a problem when playing cultures 1 : when I try to construct (even a supply tent/warehouse) a bit far from my main building (that contain goods), my stupid building constructor aren't smart enough to move themself and are saying that they can't find the goods to construct the new building...

I presume there is an "undefined distance" beyond which the constructor don't succed to construct buildings...

Sometimes, I try to move them manually to assist them but it's quite annoying.

1) Do you know if there is a good way to construct building far from the colony without problems ?

2) Do you know if cultures 2 has the same managment problem ?

Thanks in advance

Do you have signposts built all around? Signposts help them find resources they need. If you don't have signposts built, they can get lost and even stuck. Signposts help guide your people around in their jobs.

You can use merchants to transfer goods between warehouses. If you need resources in a far away point, you can have a merchant transfer the goods from one place to another.

Something else you can try. When workers get their resource, they carry it back to their building to drop it off. So once they get their resource, intercept them on their way and send them to your place of construction. At the place of construction, have them change jobs, they will then drop their resource on the ground. Which I am guessing, your constructor could pick it up for the building construction. Once dropped, send that other guy back to his original place to continue working. That is just an idea to try in dire needs.
Hi Kadlin,

Thank you for your concern.

I don't know what building called "signpost" is...I wonder if there is such building in cultures 1 'cause I never saw it in the list building^^.

But I will take a look on that.

For the merchant, yes, I already post here to learn more about goods transfer and you already told me about them^^.

Did you try cultures 2 yet? Same managment ?

Thank's

Edit : I tried to transfer goods between two warehouse with a merchant but no way, he only transfer what he wants and not what I told him to transfer with the "+" & "-" icons in the warehouses...

Hi!

Oh, that must be what you're missing then. You need sign posts to guide your people around. The Scout can build sign posts. Once you select your Scout, right click on him, or his picture in the corner, and click on the sign post button. You can build them all over the map. Your people will use these sign posts to find resources and help guide them around the map. So make sure to build as many sign posts around the map as you can, especially around your immediate village area and to friendly tribes for trade. Your Merchants can trade with friendly Tribes, and they will also follow your sign posts.

You could also call them guide posts. I just call them sign posts.

Scouts can also be used to cut down trees. That can be helpful to clear areas for building space on maps with a lot of trees.
For the Merchants, here's how it works:

First you would set them up to work at the two warehouses you want.

Now in each warehouse, once you select it, there are two areas at the bottom of it. Where the plus and minus signs are. One is for the minimum stock you want in that warehouse, the other is the maximum stock you want in that warehouse.

When you increase your minimum and maximum stock for the items you want, your merchant will automatically move those items from one warehouse to another. So for example, if you want to move spears from one warehouse to another warehouse, you would select the spears in the warehouse, and then increase the minimum limit up to what you want, and set the maximum limit to a number that you don't want it to go over. So if you want at least 6 spears always in that warehouse, but don't want it to go over 12 spears, you would select the minimum spears to 6, and the maximum to 12. The merchant would then work on his own to make sure that the spears are always in those ranges.

The same goes for the other resources too. The Merchant will decide himself what resources are needed the most by the minimum and maximum you set them at. If you need to move more goods quicker, you can set up more than one merchant to two warehouses.
Ok thank's for the explanation. I will try for the signpost with a .... scout? (lol, guess I will find how to access this job^^)
I marked your answer as the solution.

For the merchants, I didn't know I had to set minimum AND maximum for each good^^. I will try also.

Have a nice day.
