Is it just me? I love the first game so very much, especially the amazing alien ship. The amazing tunnel of light!

When Crysis 2 was announced I was giddy, but as soon as I saw that the aliens suddenly looked entirely different, I felt disappointed. Those Crysis 1 Aliens were amazingly well designed, and creepy as they should be without being horror, so I could enjoy the game. Those aliens evolving to become mostly two legged cannonfodder just feels so tired and bland in comparison.

Anyone else feel that way? The first game and it's standalone-addon Warhead - - that really felt like an alien invasion. Crysis 2 and 3 really were different, and the concept of fighting off an alien invasion was played down way too much.

Yeh i feel exactly the same. They could have had a lot of the world decimated by their freezing energy bubbles and had it reach the city in the game.
If they wanted to introduce more generic walking aliens, they could have at least integrated it into the story of #2 and showed them being made.

#2 just felt like - "Everythings F*cking changed just deal with it ok!?" when you played it.

I think the worst thing about #2 though was the terrible enemy AI. If you picked soldiers off from a distance, they'd quite often just all stand around next to each other, waiting to be picked off next.
I feel that the entire Aliens stuff just didn't work for me.

Everything else is awesome though.
I dug the aliens, even if they can be cheap sometimes. They fit the world of Crysis more than the Trigen in Far Cry.
I also prefer Crysis & Warhead's aliens to Crysis 2's.

I cannot even play Crysis 2 anymore due to some stupid Windows update clashing with its looovely DRM.

No, Windows 7 on the computer where I have Crysis 2. It was installed and working and then one day did not work anymore. I suspect the update that blocked several DRM systems from working anymore, first introduced in Windows 10, was responsible.

There's probably workaround/override for that with editing registry entries
