I wonder whether it'll run better or worse than the original.

I'd like to see a better performing version.

That said, I'm not a massive fan of Crysis.. I think a Far Cry remaster would be more exciting for me. Or just a new game that plays the strengths of Far Cry (which is what I expected from Crysis but came disappointed).

Same with me
Indeed, being a normal human without super technology and the thrill of encounters with mercs or monkey trigens (yes, I like the fear of a sudden encounter with them) is what feels absent in the gaming market. Confessing, the ability to play it more Hitman like, e.g. passing guards without getting noticed or silently disposing them would be nice - the machete must have more uses than to open ventilation shafts.
I hope this comes to gog
They removed one part :-( This seems to be a remaster of the console version, not the original game.
Here's a comparison video with Crysis Remastered vs Crysis Enhanced Edition (Mod).

The Enhanced Edition clearly wins when it comes to performance, physics and effects and imo looks better overall (e.g. color grade).

Sorry to burst your bubble, but EA is probably going to make Crysis Remastered an Origin exclusive just like they did with Star Wars: Battlefront 2 and Mass Effect: Andromeda.

EA wants to promote Origin over Steam and GOG because Steam and GOG take a % of each sale to compensate them for using their platforms/launchers (and DRM, in the case of Steam).

It's just like how Activision-Blizzard decided to make Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War exclusive to their company's launcher instead of selling it on Steam like they did with all of the other Call of Duty games.

The future of gaming is one where we will have like 10 different Steam-like launchers installed on our PCs because none of these companies want to pay the others to use their launchers.

tl;dr: unless you want to play Crysis: Remastered on Origin, I suggest you ignore news about the upcoming remaster and buy the original Crysis and its expansion (Crysis Warhead) right here on GOG while you still can. The graphics of the original are holding up pretty nicely despite the age of the game anyway.
