Everyone knows what this game is already. It's the epic "go home Steam Greenlight, you're drunk" event that rocked the gaming world.

Bloody hard, too. Or maybe I'm getting old prematurely?

Nah, it's hard. :)

It's rather easy once you get some practice :) If you want to have an easier time, play as the Bard for a while to get a hang of the enemies' movement patterns without worrying about the beat of the music.

If you want a truly fiendishly difficult mode, try unlocking Coda as I've heard that character's game runs at twice the speed, has Aria's "don't miss a beat" challenge, and I *think* you also die when picking up gold just like the Monk :)

I read about some of these on the wiki... Cadence is totally fine for now, yowza.

Zone 1 was doable, but I'm ashamed to say I can't reliably clear it in one try. Zone 2 is probably within reach eventually. X-P
Someone else should do a review that's more knowledgeable about the Linux and client issues... These aren't a big deal for me, but I'm not totally sure I know exactly how these are going to shake out. It sounds like the issue is on the developer's side, and GOG's only alternative was to not get the game at all...

Has the Galaxy issue been fixed with the Windows version? I've read that people who don't have Galaxy installed could not get Necrodancer to run. Has this bug been fixed yet?
Doesn't seem so, but from the other couple threads on it, it seems the issue is from having and uninstalling or not updating. So if you never had it installed you probably won't have an issue. Mine seems ok for some reason though.

Anyway, I can do ok with the Bard, I used to play a lot of Roguelikes, but I kind of use him to practice the beat too. I do think the shopkeepers are the best thing in the game so far, I heard him singing and started moving away then realized it was him. So I had to come back and dance in his shop :) they remind me of the Diva Plava Laguna from 5th Element.

We are still working on it. We've confirmed that not having Galaxy installed at all is not causing the issue, it's having it installed and then uninstalling (as whatsnottaken said).

Since the Linux version does not have that issue (it doesn't check for Galaxy at all), will Brace Yourself Games make the same changes to the Windows version? That should fix the problem for everyone.

Issue may be with the GOG Galaxy tools more so than with the game. Necrodancer might be able to workaround that depending exactly what's happening.

From what I've read, it's fragments of Galaxy that's preventing the game from launching for many people. But I've already checked my Registry and I didn't see anything that said "Galaxy" in there. Rather than having to search the entire computer for Galaxy, I wish the Windows version of Necrodancer simply would not do a "check" for Galaxy in the first place--like in the Linux version. That would fix the problem for many people.

Besides being off-topic for the thread, posting all over the place makes it hard to follow the conversation. Better to keep it in one place. Replied over there.
