Can I install this game offline and play?

I play my games on an offline PC, that does not connect to the web.

And I have read in a review that the game needs to connect to the web to download something called the Kalypso Launcher. Is this true?

Or is there some way to avoid that? Download the Kalypso Launcher independently on this PC instead, without installing? What is the link if so? And does the launcher ever need to be updated?

If this is a requirement, and updating is needed, then I fail to see the distinction between that and a DRM, where you need to connect to the web.
And what happens if I wait for five years before installing, and it needs the Kalypso Launcher and it is no longer available or doesn't support my older PC OS?

The game comes bundled with the Kalypso launcher. But the launcher only starts when there is an internet connection. Without internet the game launches directly. So no, the game doesn't need an internet connection.

If you ever play the game on a pc with internet you have to block the "AppData.exe" in your firewall to avoid the launcher to start. The file can be found inside the game's folder\Binaries\Win32.

Excellent, thanks for that.

That review sure is misleading then.

I am guessing that "AppData.exe" has to run in any case, otherwise you would have said rename it.

Exactly. The game launches from the "Crookz.exe" which starts the "AppData.exe". If there is a firewall block or no internet connection then the "AppData.exe" closes immediately and the game starts.

If you rename that file, then the game won't start because the "Crookz.exe" is looking infinitely for the "AppData.exe".
