Darvin: ...
Thanks! I can agree with every word.

I didn't use Blade Gun at all though, so whats your use with it?

All below is IMHO and my current strategy :)

Good score for me depends on combination of luck getting good perk + luck not having critical situations (like Infernal Contract with no healing perk and fast monster near) + luck getting proper gun that passes into chosen strategy. Of course, movement comes with practice, but game still ends up being casual - sometimes I die with 100k, sometimes within 5-14m.

Currently I have two 14m, but both times ended doing stupid things in the end, like touching that Shielded Bug which appears past ~1m score and kills instantly on touch. There is sure potential to go past the score, prioritizing shield/freeze/slow time with Telekinesis+Man Bomb combo. Did you discover that Man Bomb explodes just where you stand, which makes ~2-second room to pick new power ups in proximity? :-)

There are some guns that I don't use like Uzi, Assault Rifle, Ion rifle, Ion shotgun (not 3-way), Plasma Rifle, Multi Plasma, Gauss Gun (not shotgun), Plasma Minigun, Flamethrower/Torch, Seeker (single).

There are some guns which are suicidal at start and need specific perks to be able to use decently, like Splitter gun and Pulse gun (try with Angry Reloader+ later Uranium Bullets/Fast Loader) or Sawed Off Shotgun (with Uranium Bullets+Poison Bullets, if you pick Fire bullets - it easily most devastating weapon).

Also HR Flamer or Mini-Rocket Swarmers have strange and fun, but suicidal strategy of picking Plasma Expert/Fast Reloader and then stand-still powerups (you need to stand still from that moment, for HRFlamer - to constantly circle mouse while firing): Telekinesis+Man Bomb, Living Fortress, Stationary Reloader, Tough Reloader. The major problem are those shielded bugs, that if ram through you - its over. :-/

I never pick dangerous gambling perks or Perk Expert though. Have fun hunting! :-)
I just found out lots of current perks in game became different over time, so I just updated the first post.

It just has high damage, so it actually kills stuff at the point where other weapons start struggling. I feel like it does eventually hit a ceiling because it just doesn't deal with swarms well enough, but it can go surprisingly far.

Definitely; you need a combination of good luck and solid play to get a high score. If you can't draw the right perks you're not going to make it very far.

I'm paranoid of telekinesis since picking up the wrong powerup at the wrong time can pretty much end your run.

I'd say the Ion Shotgun is decent. Otherwise I agree with your list.

Lin545: Pulse gun (try with Angry Reloader+ later Uranium Bullets/Fast Loader)
While I'm aware of the combo, it's perplexingly difficult to enter. The Pulse Gun is probably the single worst weapon in the game without perk support, but Angry Reloader is something you'd almost never take unless you have it. It's a combo that's very hard to enter naturally unless you reset over and over again with the intention of going for it. If I'm not actively going for it, Pulse Gun is one of the few weapon drops where I'd prefer to stick with a pistol.

That is the strategy with Mini-Rocket Swarmers, but with HR Flamer I actually go for a more mobile approach.

I think I once took the lifeline 50/50 perk when it was my first perk and everything else was hot garbage.

Perk Expert, though, is a solid consolation prize. It's never ideal, since you'd always prefer to just draw the perks you want, but if the choice is between increasing the odds of getting something good later or taking something that's pretty garbage right now... I'll hedge my bets for later.

Yeah, a number of the descriptions are no longer accurate either. The "Slow Time, High Damage" perk says that it reduces how long the time stop perk lasts for, but it does no such thing. The "Random Weapon" perk is now a straight up weapon selection that gives you a free pick of whatever you want. It makes me wonder if there are subtle effects on other perks that I rarely take that I'm missing.

Well, I just blew my personal best out of the water. 441 million with the sawed-off shotgun.

I managed to get a constant chain of fire bullets, shields, freeze, fast movement, and slowed time for basically half an hour, until I got a drought of defensive power-ups and was eventually mobbed and killed. I doubt I'll be surpassing this score any time soon.

Darvin: One of my favorite combos is the mini rocket swarmer with as many traits to speed up reloading as possible. Since the weapon only has one round there is no delay between shots other than the reload time, you can fire ludicrously quickly with it. Once you have the combo, it takes a ridiculous swarm to close in on you even if you need to stand still most of the time.
That, with the angry reload perk,Is my favorite tactic

This is awesome! Today I broke my own record at 145 million points: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eoq_lHZbHj4

Usually I am around 5-20 million, but I found a way to go past 20.

Basically, after ~1 million old tactics stop to work, one relies completely on firebullets. One can't rely on tough reloader immunity and needs to be able to ignore bullets, while capable to fast and also have chance of shield and slowdown powerups dropping. The monsters collect in large crowd, so one needs to strafe around or be torn by the crowd, standing on one place is impossible.

Two levels of perk expert is a must, uranium bullets and bullet grease are a must, unstoppable and telekinesis are also a must. Two perks for powerups to appear randomly, bonus magnet and out of thin ear are a must.

I found that doctor perk is damaging more than helping, the enemy hp starts to garbage up the field making it harder to spot powerups.

So much depends on luck, its incredible. If one has lots of luck, either shield or slow motion spawn and one wins one more minute. Nothing else works: just running around the center, fishing for 2x, fire bullets, gun upgrade and shield/slow motion.

Yup, it's pretty much the only strategy capable of reaching 100M or higher. There are a couple other approaches that can thrive up to 10M and push a little further with some luck, but there's really nothing that can kill monsters fast enough to survive at this late stage other than fire bullets with the slow motion damage boost perk.

The Plasma Cannon, Splitter Gun, Mini Rocket Swarmers, 3-Way Ion Rifle, and HR Flamer are more reliable at hitting the 10M mark, but they hit a ceiling as the monsters just get too strong and they can't consistently kill them. At this stage in the game you need to be keeping boosts active at all times, and the only weapon with the damage output to kill fast enough to keep boosts active are shotgun types with fire bullets.
