I spoke with the designer of BHunter and he was surprised by the similarities (vehicle movement, 2D cockpit view, scrolling message prompts) as well.

What is the relation between these games? It's seem so odd...

Oddly enough, that came up years ago when I contacted him about this. He said he was thinking of releasing a "remaster" for mobile platforms, but nothing ever came of it.
