Heya, pretty much I'm looking for a way to be able to put Creatures into windowed mode without having to switch to 16bit colours (if you don't, the colours freak out). Are there any unofficial patches or mods out there that do this?

Look through the previous posts here, somebody figured out how to force it into running in 32bit mode. That might be what you're after.

Sadly you will have to use full screen mode for that.
