Hi everyone, I recently found out that there are a finite number of Norn and Grendel slots, which means that despite there being over a hundred different breeds of each, we can only run a couple at a time in our games. My problem as several points:

1. How can I tell which slot a given breed will occupy?

2. Is it possible to swap breeds out to make room for others, with the freedom of putting them back?

3. Is there no way for us to make more slots?

Thanks in advance!
It is unfortunate about the limited number of spots. To answer your questions:

1.) When you download a breed, the creator usually mentions which slot it occupies. Most of the breeds listed at Creatures Caves include the breed slot used. There is also a list at , but I'm not sure if it's 100% up-to-date. The last resort is to look at the files included with each breed. If you're going this route, the [url=http://creatures.wikia.com/wiki/Sprite]Creatures Wiki has a nice page that might be able to help! There actually aren't too many overlapping breeds: Many simply use special genetics and existing sprites. In fact, using a combination of different breed sprites and other colors is a way that people create "new" breeds that have a unique appearance, but don't use up a breed slot.

2.) It's not too easy to switch out breeds occupying the same breed slot, unfortunately. You either need to go through the manual process of replacing all of the files, or use the Breed Uninstaller. Keep in mind that some breed downloads only include the .agent file, so that all sprites and body data files will be installed when an egg is laid. In these cases, make sure you have uninstalled the other breed BEFORE laying an egg, as this can create some issues.

3.) There are no other ways to create more slots. On the upside, at least we're not as limited in Creatures 1 with just ten breed slots!

Hope this helps!
