I'd love to be able to play with my Norns while watching a video or listening to music, but C2's own BGM and SFX would be intrusively loud.

I've looked around and can't find any way to make it quieter (aside from turning down the PC volume, but obviously that won't help me multitask either)- is there anything I can do?
There is an option to turn off ambient music under the File menu, but it's usually the sound effects that are absolutely deafening! Creatures Exodus offers sound control options, yet Creatures 2 does not. I have read that the Blueberry Cheat has an option to mute Norn voices, yet I've tended to avoid using this cheat for fear of encountering any issues. C2 seems to be buggy in its own right, and this still doesn't seem to solve the issue of muting other sound effects. This site, which is in German, mentions the details of the cheat. For the ability to only mute Norn voices, though, I would guess the disadvantages don't make it a viable option.

Maybe someone else knows more, though: It's certainly nice to be able to play the games with your own music... Those Norn voices can be quite loud!
Aha! Renaming the Sounds folder prevents the game from playing any music or SFX at all. Doesn't seem to affect stability as far as I can tell (no "Wah, I can't find bee.wav, I'm going to crash!" errors).

Not quite an ideal solution, but short of manually editing all the .wav files to be quieter by default, this seems to be the easiest way to get C2 as a nice background app.
Very interesting solution: I never thought of that, but it makes sense! Hopefully the game stays stable, yet it sounds like it's working well. Thanks for sharing!
I have run into one issue- you can't inject any COBs that use sounds, as it will try to find the relevant .wav on injection, and throw up an error if it isn't there.

Doesn't affect stability as such- all that happens is the object won't be added to the world- and it's easily worked around by changing the folder name back when you need to inject something.
