Hello!
Here's what I did to make it work:
1. Download the offline installer.
2. Launch the installer as an administrator.
3. Install the game on C:\GOG Galaxy\Games. (That was a mistake. I intended to put in in the Program Files... but it's working now, so I won't change it.)
4. Launch the game, hatch an egg, and try to open the Health Kit.

MakiSan88: My Health Kit in Creatures 1 is still bugged and shows the "No error message is available." I can fiddle with the Science Kit to observe my creatures more in-depth but it is a bit disappointing to not have the easier access Health Kit available. I've tried running the game as an administrator, I've set "run as administrator" and various Windows Compatibility modes on every single EXE file in the game file. I've tried re-installing the game numerous times and deleting registry keys for a clean install. I've even tried re-installing the game in My Documents (or Windows 10's version of the Documents folder) and STILL, nothing is working!!
I'm pulling my hair out at this stage and thinking I'll just skip and go straight to Creatures 2. I've also lost almost every egg in the hatchery, a feature which has strangely stayed over despite all my numerous re-installs. I'm down to my last egg and I have no idea how to replenish the hatchery or fix the Health Kit.
Please, please, PLEASE help!!
To answer how to fix the health kit applet in c1:
Do the following change the filename of "Health Kit.exe" to "HealthKit.exe"
then go and find the file name Applets in the same directory (the c1 default directory where also the health kit file is)
Open it with notepad(++) or any other simple texteditor, change in it the word Health Kit to just one word HealthKit, save and close.
Now launch c1 and your healthkit is again working in full glory!
