Nevermind all of that, I'm now fairly sure it just doesn't want to run in Windows 10 x64. Time to get a Virtual Machine to run it under!
I was trying to troubleshoot the install to make sure that it wasn't corrupted or broken, turns out Windows 10 just doesn't want to play nice. If anyone has a problem with the Genetics Kit crashing, it's NOT a file that's bad, as much as it may look it: it's WOW64 not being able to play well with a 1996 program.
