I've downloaded the zzz_gamestart_login.cos file for DS as the server is offline, but I cannot locate this mythical Bootstrap folder anywhere. The world I tried to create is called MUU, and under the "My Worlds" folder I found a MUU folder with some files called engine_no_auxilary_bootstrap_0 and engine_no_auxilary_bootstrap_1, but nothing else resembling a Bootstrap folder. I understand this login file is a common issue, and I would rather get this fixed rather than have to ask for my money back. I haven't played creatures since I was a little boy, and was really excited to find this on Gog. Thanks!!!

Welcome back to the world of Creatures! The Docking Station Bootstrap folder should be located under Docking Station\Bootstrap\010 Docking Station. That's where the login disable file should be placed so that new worlds won't require you to be online. You may need to search for this somewhere in your Documents or C: drive, depending on where you installed the files. If you have any trouble or any other questions, feel free to post! I hope this gets you on the right path so you can enjoy the game again soon!
Wow, I was looking in the wrong folder, obviously. Still, when placing the new login file into the bootstrap folder, is doesn't change anything, I am still faced with the same prompt to enter a password. I tried taking the zzz file out first, but there was no change. Am I doing something wrong? I downloaded a folder called Offline Option from creaturesdockingstation.com, which came with three files: the zzz_login file, one to be placed in the images folder called offlinelogin.c16, and a readme explaining it all. Am I missing something? Thanks for your prompt response, DiscoverAlbia! It means a lot to me.
I just realized there was a new button between the check and the big red x, and now I'm in. Thank you so much! Now I have just to get reacquainted with the mechanics and figure out how to construct the machines and so forth.
I'm glad you found it! That new option can be a little difficult to locate if you don't know exactly what to look out for. There are plenty of great resources out there for you! I started putting together a quick list of Creatures Game Help and Solutions. Might not be of much use to you, but maybe it will be! Definitely be sure to pick up the Creatures Remastered Patch to allow third-party content to be installed correctly. That link should bring you to Creatures Caves, which is an extremely active part of the community that continues to grow. If you have any questions or are looking for anything, chances are good you'll find it there! Best of luck to you!
I'll look over your link, thanks! I have been on Creatures Caves, and have already installed a few things, although I have yet to play with them. The most intriguing is the C1toDs addon, which will take me back. Thanks!
