Hello,
I'm trying to play Creatures 1 on my Windows XP computer, but I encounter 2 problems :

- In the Owner's Kit, when I try to go in the "photo" section, the kit crashes.
- When I played the game, an error might occur saying that "the RPC server isn't available" ???

Can you help me ? What it those problems' source ?

I have the same issue, but I'm not sure what sever Creatures is trying to access/how to prevent it from trying.

The main game application itself doesn't crash, but you cannot continue playing because of the RPC error. You have to close creatures and kill the Creatures 1 process in task manager before you can restart the game.

Any solutions/workarounds?

Two years later and on another system (Windows 8 64 bits), those problems still occur. C1 is almost unplayable for me.

Any idea ?

Hi there,

I come back on this thread because I finally solved that problem. If someone have the same errors than me, there's just one small step to make the game work perfectly :

YOU HAVE TO INSTALL THE ENTIRE GAME IN THE "MY DOCUMENTS" FOLDER
( C:\Users\Your username\Documents\Creatures)

If you install the game somewhere else, the game will be unable to find some files.
