so for a couple of months now (since after the halloween goodies were removed i'd estimate) Craft the World will randomly cause my computer to completely shut down, the same way it does if there's a power surge or the like. it's only Craft the World that does this. having lost over 50 hours of gameplay due to this, i'm understandably getting very frustrated. i'm frightened to try my original save (150+ hours of effort), which has the new fifth world on it with the temples, so i don't know if that one will cause it to crash as well. i ended up starting a brand new game after purchasing the DLC's and realising that not all the new stuff would be in the fifth world alone, so i could see all the new stuff from scratch as i went through the worlds. i have a couple of crashdump files from the crashes that happened while cloud save was still active, though whether they are generated by this problem or not i am not sure, as the issue causes my computer to turn off abruptly.

if anyone has some insight i'd very much appreciate it, because i love this game to bits but right now not only is it unplayable, playing it also risks the rest of my computer's data because of the crashes.

yes, i have tried a virus scan, etc; it came up clean. yes, i have tried an uninstall/reinstall. yes, i have made sure all my various drivers are completely up to date. and yes, i have used GoG Galaxy's built-in verify/repair thingy. no dice.
