Hi!

So, I'm trying to start a Cossack: European Wars multiplayer LAN game between me and my friend on a network. And I have a few questions.

1. First, Is this possible? Has anyone else done it?
2. If it is possible, do I need to request a multiplayer Key from GOG?
3. What's the best way? When I start the multplayer battle, it gives me a set of options:
a). IPX NETWORK- I don't know what this is.
b). TCP/IP LAN CONNECTION- This is t he option that looks like I want to do
c).Direct TCP/IP- I imagine that the person joining the game has to know the exact IP address for it to work.
d)) INTERNET GAME) I'm trying to set a LAN game on my network, so I don't think this is my option.

Which of these is best for setting up the LAN game? If you did it already then how did you do it?

Hi!

We often have LAN games with this GOG version of Cossacks and I would like to share my experiences with you.
It's possible, and you don't need to have a multiplayer Key from GOG. We choose the TCP/IP LAN CONNECTION option. I always follow the easiest way to establish a LAN game, so we have a DSL router and it works fine.

I hope I could help you. If you have further questions, do not hesitate to ask!

Tom

Edit.
Ups, I have just recently noticed that the question is very old. :) I hope you have managed to play an exciting LAN battle!

I know this is kinda a dead topic, but I just recently got the game and would really like to know how to play it over LAN. My wife and I enjoy playing games like this together and teaming up against a computer opponent and beating the tar out of it. Since she's naturally better at collecting resources and I am better at building armies, we usually make an awesome team. Please help..
