Is anyone having issues getting a stable frame rate with Cossacks 2 in win 10?
I have tried turning on compatibility mode, different resolutions and the steps listed for the Steam version, but the game just chugs alone very slowly.

My system meets the required specs,
i7 proc
12 gig ram
nvidia graphics card (940m dx11)
plenty of disk space on an SSD.

Any advice would be welcome.

Yes, I have framerate issues as well.

Windows 10
i7 6700HQ
GTX 950m
8 GB RAM

it's a common problem with the Steam version as well, a lot of people are reporting it.

i was hoping GOG did something about it, since it claims it's windows 10 compatible.

what's funny, the game runs perfectly on my old as hell laptop with Windows XP.

Same problem here with 8.1

Same problem on W10.Game lags so badly it is unplayable. Should be getting a refund for false advertising and selling a game that is broken.

No issues with lag on my end with an old Phenom x4 955, R9 285, Windows 10 LTSB 2016. (10.0.14393)

I do find the game to be quite unstable overall. Often crashing to the desktop randomly with no message or the attached message.

Quite easy to replicate in certain battles against the AI (Campaign Mission #2, Building Tutorial)

Toggling off certain options and lowering the resolution has no effect. I don't think windows compatibility options improve anything either.

I don't know if it's just a buggy/problematic game in general or an issue with whatever workaround GoG have used.

No issues with Cossacks or American Conquest.

It's a shame so many of the post-DOS/early Windows games can be a pain to get working.

Did anyone of you try to run the game with the help of dgVoodoo 2?
