The game is not being updated here on GOG despite steam update being out for a few months at this point . There also seems to be a premium cosmetic currency (though they've only made it a purchase option on mobile version and it seems fairly tame to acquire them on pc). Putting this out there in case people are wondering if online would work with steam users . GOG needs to look into this .

The game is not missing any update it's on 1.3.4 same as steam version. Though you are right about the content thats locked. You need to be online to be able to use this currency and use gog galaxy. If you play the game offline you won't be able to unlock the cosmetic gear.
