Just tried running the GOG version in Linux with Proton and it works great, stable frame rates and no technical issues.

Manjaro Linux
Ryzen 5 2600X
Radeon RX 580 8GB

Fans kicked in on my video card but that is more due to running on high settings.

Looks like there's also a Lutris recipe for it as well: https://lutris.net/games/control

Yes, but currently there is on;y a wrapper for the Epic Game Store version.
Successfully installed Control using Lutris "generic" install method, outlined here:

https://forums.lutris.net/t/very-brief-tutorial-on-manually-installing-a-game-in-lutris/2028

My system is an i7-5820K @ 4GHz, 16GiB RAM, NVIDIA GTX-1070Ti. Debian "unstable," kernel 5.8.14, nvidia-driver 450.80.02.

Observations:

- Took about 30 minutes to install (it took less time to download it).
- Apparently this game wants a machine far beefier than mine (?!?). While playable, the framerate is very choppy, even on "low" graphics setting. Very diffifult to line up shots in a firefight.
- ESync setting had no perceptible effect.
- DX12 mode exits immediately.

I'm a WINE n00b, so I haven't tried any other tweaks.
I just installed the latest NVIDIA drivers available for Debian Linux (455.45.01). The changelogs had the following note:
- Fixed a bug which caused excessive CPU usage in Vulkan applications
which create a large number of VkFence objects. This was particularly
prevalent in the Steam Play title Red Dead Redemption 2.
I gave Control another try, and a lot of the choppiness now seems to be gone.
Thanks for the heads up! I'm considering dual booting again, so it's great to hear this :)
I can't get this game to show more than a black screen after clicking "new game". Happens on both DX11 and DX12 versions.

Manjaro
Ryzen 7 2700x
Geforce GTX 1080 8GB
WINE lutris-6.0

Used the new Lutris recipe.

What WINE versions are you guys using?

lutris-5.7-8-x86_64 apparently. DXVK/VKD3D turned on. Esync/Fsync turned off, but I can't remember whether that was important.
Sorry to bump an old thread, but any tips running on a bargain computer? (8GB RAM, integrated intel chipset, core I3, relatively new)
