I have the original Street Wars (EU version) but since my girl loves it, I thought I would buy it from GOG to her. I installed it on her PC but the scroll speed is insane on Windows 7. I looked in the forum where I saw other people with the same problem but no solution. I then tried the 11 year old Street Wars version and scroll speed was fine. I then applied my no-cd crack to Street Wars from Good old Myth and it still worked. I tried it on the GOG version and now the scroll speed was fine. So something went wrong in this version. If you go to gamecopyworld(dotcom) -> Street Wars and select Street Wars - Constructor Underworld Patch [EURO] Fixed EXE then you should be set.
Unfortunately, the program in the linked thread does not work on 64-bit systems. (It also happens to be very unwieldy)

Is there another way to fix or work around this issue? It's basically preventing me from playing the game at the moment.
same problem, its impossible to play
My first Game here and it´s not playable! :-(
Wasted 6 $
You can move around the game screen by using the small map in the lower left hand corner. You can either click a spot, or hold down the button and move the mouse to scroll.

There is also a setting for scroll speed under the options. You can set it to 1 which will help, but probably not much.

There is solved and there is SOLVED..

This comes so outside the Solved mark it is untrue.

Mob Rule is not a DOSBOX game

And the Street wars fix does not work.

So I am going to attempt to do what GoG seem unable to do and fix this the hard way..

Watch this space.
Changing the sensitivity in dosbox.conf to 200 solved this issue for me.

How do you use the software ? Can someone explain it to me please ?

Or maybe someone finally found a solution to this ?

Edit : Of course I'm talking about Constructor here.
And I found this : http://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=31938
Where people suggest to reduce polling rate of your mouse.
Since I can't (I can't find the option for my mouse), I looked a bit more, and they say that increasing sensitivity of mouse in dosbox reduce the issue. So I changed dosbox mouse sensitivity to 200 (like suggested in the post above by alawadhi3000) and I reduce my windows mouse sensitivity the time I play : seems to fix things. I'll tell after some plays if it's convincing.

I found this too : https://www.gog.com/forum/constructor_series/mouse_poor_precision
Where someone said "It went better using 1024x768 as output resolution".

Hope this will help some, and if you have a solution, I would hear it with interest :)

Edit 2 :
So finally, the best solution seems to be this one :

For people like me who could be a little lost at first, I'll make a step by step instruction, with the hope it could help some others :)
I'll suggest my own current settings, but of course you can try your own !

1) Download "MOUSEX.ZIP" on the vogons link.
2) Unzip its content ("MOUSEX.EXE" & "MOUSEX.C") directly into the folder "C:\GOG Games\Constructor"

3) Make a backup of the file "dosboxConstructor.conf"
4) Open the original and modify the sensitivity value : put "sensitivity=100" [it's the mouse sensitivity/speed in dosbox]
5) I personally have this settings that I'm not sure GOG put by default (not sure it helps solving, I indicate this just in case) :
fullresolution=desktop
output=openglnb
6) Save and close the file

7) Make a backup of the file "dosboxConstructor_single.conf"
8) Open the original
9) See the line "game.exe" ? We will change it, thanks to instructions given on the vogons page. Instead of the original "game.exe", here is what I put instead "MOUSEX 180 100 game.exe". If I understand well, it launch game.exe with mousex and its parameters indicated here. Mousex modify X and Y speed of the mouse. If a value is set to 100, it means that speed of mouse = 100% = unaltered. So I increased horizontal speed to 180% of initial mouse speed, and let the vertical one at the same speed. I'm using this command line formula : "MOUSEX xspeed yspeed filename.exe". Remember that this settings must be thought in relation to the dosbox mouse sensitivity setting and you need to balance them all (but like I said, you can try to put your own ;)). Higher dosbox sensitivity should mean putting lower values for MOUSEX (and vice-versa).
10) Save the file

11) Launch the game. Now the mouse speed should be more the same, vertically and horizontally.

Note : With my settings the mouse is a bit fast, but if I lower it, I feel it loose precision to click.

Hope this will help other people like me who were a bit lost !
And a huge thanks to the people who created & shared this application ! :D

Here to say thanks to Splatsch and ripsaw8080 that were able to come together with a nice solution (and not that hard) for this issue. Took a few tries but now the game is totally smooth.

One thing that still feel weird tho, is the arrow keys pan of the screen. It seems really stiff. There's a way to smooth it too?

Thank you very much guys. Love this place.
Just want to add that I was having this same mouse problem as well. However, using Mouse X alone not only didn't solve the problem, it introduced a new problem. Best way I can describe it is that it was like Mouse X was dropping mouse input events. While the mouse worked fine in vertical movements, horizontal movement depended on how fast I moved my mouse. If I moved it too slowly, the cursor doesn't move at all or barely does.

What fixed this for me was switching to DOSBox-X in addition to using Mouse X.
