Hello
Since buying this game on GoG, it works fine, apart from the in-game cut scenes not playing, such as the intro video and the other videos they have throughout the campaigns.
I then ran into the same issue with MechCommander 1 Gold... which previously worked fine.
After doing a bit of thinking, I realised (eventually) the only thing I'd changed was to enable Dynamic Super Resolution (DSR) in my Nvidia settings, via the Nvidia control panel.
Turns out that although I think DSR is great, it seems to mess up some of the older games which would otherwise work perfectly.
So... having disabled DSR, Conquest : Frontier Wars (and MechCommander 1 Gold incidentally) now work perfectly.
Just an FYI for any of you guys if you encounter this issue.
