The game performs as I remembered playing the original in Windows 98 SE. However by whatever reason, sometimes it freezes completely. I cannot close it, I cannot access any other window because the full screen of the game disallows me to do that. Alt F4 does not work either.

So that I have to reboot and this is starting to become frustrating because I can understand a random crash from time to time but not something that appears every time I play a session.

Is there any fix to: a) prevent the crashes b) be able to close the game without rebooting?

Lenovo Ideapad, windows 10 64bit, Intel UHD for graphics, resoution 800x600

Adding that the introductions aren't played at all. I can play it because I played it in the past and I can figure out most of the things.

Did you rename the executable from "comandos.exe" (one "m") to "commandos.exe" (two "m"s) to properly make use of Windows' compatibilty library?

Also, did you disable full-screen optimizations in the game executable's properties?

Nope. Where is that explained??
I can confirm the issue still exists.

Unfortunately, renaming the executable file to "commandos.exe" (with two "m"'s) or disabling Windows full-screen optimizations did not fix the issue.

I suspect it's related to the laptop's Intel HD graphics, as it works great on my Desktop-PC.

For me, the speed/crash issues were fixed after adding ddraw.dll from DDrawCompat 0.3.0 to the Commandos folder. The game runs quite well now.
