Hello, i recently purchased first two games to play on my M1 Macbook Air using Crossover app. However in first game i faced a black screen as shown on the attached image and for the second "DirectX Initialization Error".
I roamed on the net tried to rename the .exe adding "M" to the name, installed "DirectX for Pre-XP Games" and cnc-ddraw but no luck. I'm running the games with GOG Galaxy also installed on Crossover. I tried to run the games with their own bottles with Crossover yet again no luck.
So porting these games with Porting Kit and Crossover is now out of option, i installed Parallels Desktop and Windows 11 Home on my Macbook Air M1.
Having installed these;
For Commandos Behind Enemy Lines, running it with Steam is the best way to play on Mac.
For Beyond The Call of Duty, GOG version is better than the Steam version.
Both games on Steam have a freezing issue when loading however for BEL it is still playable but BTCOD is not.
Steam versions are widescreen and has an extra resolution settings but GOG versions are limited to 1024x728.
Also GOG versions don't include WWII cutscenes.
