The game seems to run fine, but I'm getting some graphics errors on the load screen and with the sniper scope. I've attached a couple screenshots showing the problem. Anyone have an idea to fix this?

Try this program. It was designed by the AoK community to fix DirectDraw colour corruption in Win7, though I think all it does is enter the .exe name in the appropriate place inside the registry (it's a known manual fix, you can look up "Windows 7 color corruption registry fix", if you don't trust the program). Now, I'm not sure it's the same problem, or that the solution in Win8 is exactly the same, but people have reported it working, so feel free to try it.

Hope this helps and good luck.

So, I did some more searching, and similar problems seem to be reported under WINE. The solutions seem to involve changing the default colour depth of X, so I would suggest you try some combination of the following

- Set your commandos 3 exe to WinXP SP3 compatibility (NOT the GOG launcher, but the proper game exe)
- Set your video adapter's colour depth to 16bit
- Also, it occurs to me that 64-bit system should have 32-bit compatibility settings, so try setting those for the .exe file.

Hopefully, some of these will solve the problem.

I already tried the compatibility settings. When I set the compatibility mode to any system (98, xp, vista) the game in menu blinking. After I load a save game, blinking stops, but when I select the sniper rifle, then the game crashes. I'm getting the windows box with info that game stopped.
Changing the colors depth, resolution, nothing work.
And I don't see any 32-bit compatibility setings.
Same graphics corruption in menu.

An old Civil War game had what looks like the same problem. NVIDIA's drivers were at fault (as ATi cards didn't have the same problems), but since the game was so old, neither NVIDIA nor the game's publisher would fix it.

Same problem here, exactly as in the thread starter's screenshot (using Win8 & AMD Radeon 7340M). If you ignore the snipers sight-glitches, its runs fine, but then the game gets unplayable at some point (first campaign, mission on a train) where graphics TOTALLY get mashed up.

Is there any hope for a solution?
I have the same problem - exactly at the train mission (win 8 64bit)
